Assistance will be paid to the farmers in the state (Gujarat) for damage to agricultural crops due to heavy rains. Last July, the Gujarat government had announced that the government would pay aid only in case of more than 33% damage to farmers’ crops. The survey has been completed in 9 rain-affected districts during this monsoon. Efforts have also been made to submit all the reports to the government.
After that, the second round of rain caused heavy damage to agriculture in Banaskantha, Jamnagar. Which was discussed in the assembly session today. It was suggested that the farmers of these two districts should also get support. In response to which, Raghavji Patel made a statement in the assembly and said that the report of the damage in agriculture will come at the end of the month. The Agriculture Minister has also claimed that the farmers will be given assistance as per the rules. 
Due to heavy rains during the monsoon in the state, agricultural crops were affected in more than 38 talukas of 9 districts including Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Tapi, Surat in South Gujarat and Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Panchmahal, Kutch in Central Gujarat. A total of 120 survey teams of the affected talukas took up the survey work. was A survey of crop damage has been done in more than 4000 villages, a decision will be taken after the survey is done in the coming days.
