The city of Rajkot was founded by Vibhoji Ajoji Jadeja. He founded and renamed Rajkot to keep alive the friendship of his friend Raju Sandhi.

Is. In 150, Thakor Sahebshree Mehramanji defeated Rajkot II and conquered Rajkot by defeating Masum Khan, then Subedar of Junagadh Nawab. So Masum Khan changed the name of Rajkot to Masumabad. Then 17 years later, i.e. in 17 AD, Mehramanji’s son Ranmalji gathered his army, attacked Masumkhan and killed him and regained his father’s throne. So again at that time Thakor Sahebshree Ranmalji Jadeja changed the name of this city to Rajkot. Thus, only 15 years was the second name in the history of Rajkot
