The world’s largest solar park, Bhadla Solar Park

After the Bhadla Solar Park in Jodhpur district in western Rajasthan, the exercise to set up the state’s second largest solar park at Nokh in Jaisalmer district has started. The process of land acquisition by Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RECL) is in the final stage. The capacity of this park will be 925 MW.

As of 2020, Bhadla Solar Park is the largest solar park worldwide. It is spread over an area of 5,700 hectares in Bhadla, Jodhpur district of Rajasthan. The total capacity of this park is 2245 MW. Bhadla Solar Park

Bhadla area
The Bhadla region of Jodhpur district is officially recognized as a sandy, arid and arid region with an area of about 45 square kilometres. It is located about 200 km north of Jodhpur and 320 km west of Jaipur. Due to its climate, the region has been described as “almost unlivable”. project commissioning
NTPC had announced the commissioning of 115 MW capacity in this solar park on February 22, 2017. Currently, it has a full capacity of 2,245 MW, making it the largest solar park in the world, with an investment of over Rs 100 billion.
