Raksha Bandhan is a holy festival of brotherhood. If we say the biggest festival for brother and sister in Hinduism, it is Rakshabandhan. On the day of Raksha Bandhan, sister ties rakhi on brother’s hand and makes her mouth salty.

The sister performs the aarti of the brother and puts Chandlo on the forehead. Brother gives gift to sister. Brothers and sisters eagerly wait to celebrate this holy festival.

But we know that Raksha Bandhan is two days this year. Rakshabandhan will be celebrated on two days of 30th August and 31st August because this year Rakshabandhan day is Bhadra Kaal. Rakhi will be tied for two days for that.

According to the Hindu calendar, Rakshabandhan is celebrated on the day of Poonam. This year 30th and 31st August will be considered Poonam as two days. According to Hindu scriptures, brother should never tie rakhi in Bhadra Nakshatra. It gives inauspicious results.
